Roger L. Shures

Roger L. Shures, of Rantoul, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in Paxton. He was born in Decatur, IL, on May 2, 1943, the son of Richard and Vivian Shures.

He is survived by his daughter, Christy Ohlsson of Urbana, and stepson Terry Wood of Findlay, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Trent Ohlsson.

Roger proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, Roger built a long career at Illini Institutional Foods Inc. in Rantoul, Illinois. He worked there diligently for 39 years before retiring.

Roger will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield, IL. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Lux Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul, IL, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

In honor of Trent Ohlsson, memorial donations may be made in Roger’s name to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria, IL.
