Roger Michael 'Mike' Ruper

Roger Michael Ruper, 60, of Danville passed away at 4:30p.m. on Wednesday May 21, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. Mike was born on April 10, 1948 in Danville the son of Harry and Elizabeth Scott Ruper. On June 6, 1981, he married Debra Sue Jones in Danville at Lincoln United Methodist Church. He was the beloved husband of Debra; loving father of Melissa Ruper and Michelle (fianc(c)e Ryan Campbell) Ruper both of Danville; cherished grandfather of McKenzie Campbell and Kaleigha Bibb; dearest brother of Karen Carnaghi of Shelbyville; loving uncle of Robyn, Sharlynn, Joshua, Jeremy, Eric, Kevin and Sarah; fondest son-in-law of Pauline and John Jones of Tilton and brother-in-law of Rodney (Ann Marie) Jones of Indianapolis; and will be greatly missed by his constant companions Kiki and Kody the dogs. He was preceded by his parents and siblings Sondra and Rodney. Mike worked for the CSX Railroad for over 36 years as a conductor and brakeman. He was also a member of the Elks. Mikes greatest enjoyment was time spent with family and his many close friends playing golf and poker. He will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Mikes life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday May 24, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Pastor Richard Sullins will officiate. Burial to follow at Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until time of service at 12:00 on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the Danville Humane Society.
