Roger Mahannah

Roger Jay Mahannah, 76 of Savoy, IL. passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, in Savoy. He was born in Urbana, IL. on April 19, 1947, the son of Roy and M. Ruth Mahannah. He married Kay (Allen) Mahannah on May 28, 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; children: Katie (Andy) Lanham, Kari Mahannah, Kyle (Brittany) Mahannah, Jay (Mindy) Mahannah; sister, Mary Ellen (Norm) Schuler; grandchildren: Becca, Janessa (Damian), Rory, Marenna, Phoenix, Sage, Owen, Orion and Emmy.

Roger was a graduate of Urbana High School class of 1965. He proudly served in the United States Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam war. He was a lifelong Cubs fan, loved going fishing and was proud to be a regular blood donor at his local blood bank. Roger had a strong willingness to do anything for his family. He was proud of his children and grandchildren. He held a sincere faith in Christ and was involved in his church since childhood. His warm smile and generous heart will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janet and brother, Ron.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 1-2pm followed by a celebration of life at 2pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL. 61820.

A private interment will be held at Danville National Cemetery. Military rites have been accorded.

Memorial donations may be made in Roger's name to the UniPlace Church's Music Department at 403 S Wright St, Champaign, IL 61820.
