Roger L. Keene

MORRIS, IL - Roger L. Keene, 71, of Morris, IL, passed away at 7:16pm on August 19th, 2007, in Morris Hospital, Morris, IL. He was born on June 7th, 1936, in South Bend, IN, the son of Francis and Janet Virginia (Robinson) Keene. He was married to Carolyn Sue Delanois on October 10th, 1981, in Georgetown, IL. Those who will miss him include: his wife, Sue of Morris; his three sons, Dan Keene, Doug Keene, & Matthew Keene of Las Vegas; his daughter, Heather Stevens of California; his step-son, Richard Wilber of Spring Lake, NC; his two grandchildren, Tanner & Tyler Stevens of California; and his brothers, Chuck Keene of Kansas, Gene Hackett of Indiana, and Bob Hackett of Indiana. His parents, his brother-Wayne Keene, his sister-Nancy Keene, and half-sister-Maryanne, preceded him in death. Roger was an educator and taught for many years before becoming a Truant Officer. He was a veteran of US Marines serving in Korea. He was a member of the Methodist Church in both Georgetown & Morris. He enjoyed doing magic tricks, collecting coins, reading, and was an avid fan of Notre Dame and the Bears. A celebration of Rogers life will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, August 25th, 2007, Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL, 61846. Pastor Jarrett Wells will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery in Georgetown.
