Roger Coffing,81, a devoted family man and pillar of the community, passed away peacefully at his home on June 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on April 25, 1945, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, Roger lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and love for his family and friends.
A graduate of Covington High School’s class of 1963, Roger devoted his entire working career to owning and operating Coffing Brothers Orchard. His commitment to the orchard and his community was profound, as he not only nurtured the land but also contributed to local governance by serving on the Covington School Board from 1990 to 2010. Roger was also a proud great-grandfather to Greyson Orander, Tinley Stimac, Beckham Orander, Noah Coffing, and Kohen Gulley. He is survived by his sister Rita Paxton and brother Greg (Lori) Coffing, as well as sisters-in-law Sally Gritten and Kay Hunter. Special friendships were also a treasured part of Roger’s life, notably with Scott and Nancy Wallace, Ed and Cheryl Hunt, and many dear friends at Ord Lake in Canada, including Don and Marianne Wright, Shaun and Carly Wright, and Brad and Kristen Wright. His extended family includes many nieces and nephews who remember him fondly.
