Rogelio Rangel

Rogelio Rangel Sr., 73, of Danville passed away on September 30, 2020 in Urbana. Rogelio was born on August 3, 1947 in Reynosa Tamualipas, Mexico the son of Pedro and Emilia Rangel. On November 27, 1967 Rogelio married the love of his life Maria Del Refugio Herrada Rangel, she survives.

Also surviving are sons, Roberto Rangel Sr., Rogelio Rangel Jr., Jaime Rangel; step-son, Carlos Herrada; daughters, Maribel (Harry) Rangel-James, Maria Elena (Bobby) Rangel-Patton, Rosalinda Rangel-Ramos; brother, Jesus Rangel Sr.; sisters, Hermelinda Alvarez, Socorro Sanchez, Irene Cortez; grandchildren, Paola, Carla, America, Claudio, Justin, Ella Marlo, Ashley, Alyssa, Ana, Harry III, Victoria, Joshua, Alexis Marie, Cynthia Elena, Savannah Maria, Roberto Jr, David, Selena, Elisa, Alma, Esmeralda, Luis Jr, Destiny Grace, Jayden, Olivia, Mitchell, Morgan; great-grandchildren, Viviana, Reese, Lawson, Peyton, Kaydence, Kassius, Amila, Layla, Carter, Gabriella and Xavier.

Rogelio is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Cynthia Rangel.

Rogelio worked for and retired from Quaker Oats after 40 years. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, traveling, going to casinos, bird watching, especially American Bald Eagle and he especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved pets, Papi and Bailey. He loved spending time with his friends and family and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A Funeral Service for Rogelio will take place at 11am Monday October 5, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 with a Rosary Service taking place prior to the service at 10:40am. Rogelio will be laid to rest at Springhill Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Sunday October 4, 2020 at the funeral home.
