Rogelio 'Jr.' Hernandez

We gather today to honor of the life of Rogelio S. Hernandez, AKA "Jr". A skilled safety coordinator with Valsper Corporation, born in Harlingen, Texas. He is leaving behind a close-knit family.

He is survived by his mother, Enedelia; four siblings, Trino (Eva), Annette (Carlos), Anthony, and Nicholas (Bridgette); best friend and love of his life for the past 12 years, Norma; seven children; Chelsea, Sasha, Katelyn, Ramsey, Siera, Brandon, and Renee; seven grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Jr. will be remembered by his family and friends for his love of the Chicago Bears and sometimes Dallas Cowboys. A self-proclaimed grill master whose BBQ and jalapenos poppers will surely be missed; his gorgeous smile, his passion to play the keyboard and be in his band LXP, and love for music period. Although struck by illness and subsequent tragedy that brings us here today, his family shares they have a semblance of peace knowing that he loved people well and lived life to the fullest. His fun-loving spirit will continue to live on in this world through his precious gifts and through those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
