Robert Bob' Lee Winland Sr., 81, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:50pm, Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, Danville. He was born on May 1, 1930, in Catlin, IL, the son of Ernest and Mabel {Truman} Winland, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Patricia Van Fleet on June 1, 1952, in Danville, IL. She will miss him dearly. Others who will miss him include: his sons, Robert Bobby' Lee (Jeanne) Winland Jr & Jeffrey A. (Michelle) Winland, both of Georgetown; his daughters, Karen A. Winland of Georgetown & Cheryl Suzy' (Duane) Drollinger of Covington; his grandchildren, Mark Robert (Andrea) Winland of Virginia, IL, Nicolette S. (Jason) Baccadutre of St. Joseph; Jay J (Lauren) Winland of Danville, Matthew Lee (Kim) Drollinger of Covington, IN, Caleb S. Winland of Champaign, Nicole M. Drollinger of Covington, IN, Patrick G. Leka of Chicago, IL, Candice L. Leka of Champaign, & Sawyer Winland of Georgetown; his great grandchildren, Kathryn R. Drollinger of Covington, IN, Karlee M. Drollinger of Covington, IN, Mallory G. Winland of Virginia, IL, & Gavin Lee Scott of Covington, IN; his sisters, Eileen Vines of Phoenix, AZ, & Mary Lou (Roy) Burgoyne of Georgetown; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by: his sister, Juanita Neild; and his brothers, Dale, Donald, & Larry Winland. Bob retired as a farmer after many years, as well as, retiring from Pioneer Seed as a salesman. He bowled on a league for several years at Ridgeway Lanes and made many good friends during that time. He served on the Georgetown Fair Board for over 20 years and was an avid gardener and especially loved growing and eating tomatoes. He collected toy tractors which are replicas of the ones he owned. Bob & Patricia both loved to travel to various destinations in the US and Canada with their good friends, Don & Ann Smith and Martha & Earl Hargan. He also loved going fishing and made many trips to Minnesota & Canada over the years. Since retiring, his favorite afternoon pastime was to drive his truck to town and drink coffee with his friends. He also loved to read. Bob cherished his time that he spent with his kids, grandkids and great grandchildren. He loved to laugh and tell stories of his childhood. He grew up attending church at Fairview United Methodist Church where he was baptized. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. A private family service was held at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the Alzheimer's Association or a Charity of donor's choice.
