Robert'Bob' E. Bloomfield

Robert "Bob" E. Bloomfield, 77, of Muncie, passed away at 2:51 p.m. Sunday, September 4th, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Bob was born on September 30th, 1933, in Muncie, Illinois, the son of Ross and Gladys (Combs) Bloomfield. He is survived by four sisters- Martha Powell of State Line, Indiana, Margaret (Lloyd) McGowen of Williamsport, Indiana, Opal Pruitt of Danville and Minnie Barsteika of Elkton, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers- Ross Bloomfield Jr., Harold Bloomfield, Lenard Bloomfield and an infant brother, three brothers-in-law- Albert Powell, Charles Eugene Pruitt and Paul Barsteika. When Bob was younger he went to Chicago Research Hospital for 7 years, where it helped him learn how to walk. He worked for area farms and an area real estate company. He was a member of the Alvin Church of God. Bob loved listening to music, playing the harmonica and going to church. A Celebration of the life of Robert "Bob" E. Bloomfield will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 8th, 2011 at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel, with Pastor Mark Keyser officiating. Burial will follow the service in Newtown Cemetery.
