Roberta L. Strebing

Robert L. Strebing, 87, of Danville, went home to heaven on Friday, February 28, 2014. Roberta was born on July 14, 1926 I Danville, to Robert R. and Gertrude M. (Young) Carter. She married Floyd W. Strebing on June 8, 1957 in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1996. Roberta grew up in Bismarck, IL, graduated from Bismarck High School I 1944. She worked at Black and Company Hardware as a bookkeeper for 22 years; she then worked for Danville School District as a bookkeeper, secretary and retired as cashier at Danville High School in 1988. After retirement she continued “her work” caring for her family up until her passing. She was fondly called “Mrs. Clean” by her grandchildren, Jessica and Michael. Surviving her is her loving daughter, Pamela (Dean) Hull, with whom she made her home for the past 10 years. Grandchildren, Jessica and Rob Dahlenburg, Michael and Sara Hull and two great grandchildren, Bodie and Addison Dahlenburg, who brought her tremendous joy! Also surviving her are two nieces, Nadeane and Richard Weller and family, Caroline and Robert Sanders and family, as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends. Roberta was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, secretary to the church board and was a faithful choir member for over 40 years. A celebration of Robertas life will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville with Pastor Michael Heidl officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Robertas name to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.
