Roberta Davis

Roberta I. Davis, 75, of Danville passed away on May 12, 2009 at North Logan Health Care in Danville. Roberta was born January 7, 1934 in Henning, Illinois daughter of Finley and Katherine Fielder Truax. She married Kenneth W. Davis in Danville, IL. He preceded her in death in 1988. Survivors include five children: Harold (Carol) Jackson of IL, Melvin Jackson of IL, Dennis (Sandy) Jackson of CA, Kenneth (Cathy) Davis Jr. of TN, and Ruth (Cecil) Randle of IL; 20 grandchildren & 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Celina Wise. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, daughter Deborah, grandson Donnie, and great grandson Jason. Roberta was a loving and dedicated homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing euchre, hummingbirds, but, most of all spending time with her family and friends. A Celebration of Robertas Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, May 18, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery.
