Robert Williams

Urbana Robert A. Williams 86, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at OSF Medical Center in Urbana, IL. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia (Demlow) Williams, his children Mark Williams (Jude Ekstam) of Mesa, AZ, Vicki Williams (Alan) Santi of Grayslake, IL. and Gregory Williams (Gervaise Frost) of Urbana, IL. along with 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He has one surviving brother, Richard C. Williams of Lake Havasu City, AZ

Robert was born in Bondville, IL. on Aug 11, 1932 to Edwin and Marceline Williams. He attended Champaign High School and served in the US Navy from 1952-1956. He then married Patricia in 1957 and worked for Illinois Bell, AT & T and Lucent Technologies for 36 years.

Robert loved traveling and camping, he served as a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts for over a decade. He was a devoted father, husband and grandfather.

A celebration of Roberts life will be held at 10am on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 710 N. Neil St. Champaign, IL 61820. He will be laid to rest at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday, March 6, also at Sunset Funeral Home in Champaign. Rev. David Ashby will be officiating.
