Robert William Farnum, 85, of Danville, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Robert was born on December 9, 1919 in Danville, the son of Robert and Sidera (Hill) Farnum. He married Waneta Colwell on September 13, 1942 at Hooten Church of Christ in Danville. She preceded him in death on February 28, 2001. He is survived by 1 son- Larry (Linda) Farnum of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; 2 daughters- Linda Beddard of England and Terry Silvey of Tilton, Illinois; 6 grandchildren- Pam Steinsdoerfer, Saundra Alcorn, David Farnum, April Farnum, Ted Silvey and Todd Silvey; 5 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Robert was a member of the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1945. He served during WWII in England and in Germany. He worked for General Motors for 34 years until retiring in 1978. He was a member of Cedar Grove Church of the Nazarene in Danville. Robert loved fishing, golfing, and all sports. He enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed flying. Robert was a member of UAW Local 579.
