Robert Vernon Rozell

Robert Vernon Rozell, 93, of Los Angeles, CA (formerly of Danville, IL) passed away on Saturday, June 8th, 2013. Robert was born on April 24, 1920 to Franklin Dewey and Elba (Puterbaugh) Rozell in Peru, Indiana. Robert is survived by his son Jose' Cortez of Los Angeles, CA; nephews Larry (Rita) Rozell of Ypsilanti, MI, Mark (Cheryl) Rozell, of Avon, IN and Michael Rozell of Danville; and niece Susan (Brian) Link of Muskegon, MI. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald and Eugene, and sister-in-laws Byressa and Velma. A graduate of Danville High School, Robert served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, then began a career with Vogel Sales Company of Los Angeles, eventually becoming owner. Robert enjoyed photography, classical music, and spending time at the beach with friends. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 20th, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville, IL with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating . Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
