Robert V. Davis

Robert V. Davis, 76, of Fithian passed away at 10:07 AM on January 31, 2013 at his home. He was born on February 22, 1936 in Fithian, the son of Isaac and Edith (Henning) Davis. Surviving him are one sister- Kay Mitchell of Danville, nieces- Debbie (Ron) Wernigk of Henning, Lori (Bob) King of Cissna Park, Robyn (Scott) Maxey of SC, Tina (Lance) Deck of Rossville, one nephew- Dean (Lynn) Boys of Jamesburg, one special aunt- Dorothy Moore of Fithian and one special cousin- Dale Ward of Fithian. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife-June, brother- Donnie, very special cousin Diana Ward and his grandparents who helped raise him Chris (Goldie) Henning. He helped raise his nieces and nephews and his greatest joy was helping others. He worked for McCalman's Construction Company for many years before working at Harland E. Moore until retiring. His favorite hobby was collecting Indian artifacts. A graveside service will be held at Stearns Cemetery on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Memorials can be made in Robert's or Diana Ward's name to the Mills Cancer Center at Carle Hospital in Champaign. Sunset's Oakwood Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
