RIDGE FARM: Robert R. Bob Pugh, 81, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 11:16 am on Wednesday, May 25th, 2005, at his residence. He was born on December 5, 1923, in Ridge Farm, the son of Joe and Vera (Hester) Pugh. On December 10th, 1944, Bob married Betty Lewis in Georgetown and spent 49 wonderful years together. She preceded him death in November of 1993. Those who will miss Robert include: his two daughters, Dorothy (Richard) Peterman of Ridge Farm and Marianne (Maurice) Hahn of Evansville, IN; his brother, Thomas (Bert) Pugh of Wallace, IN; his four grandchildren, Stephen Peterman of Ridge Farm, Robert (Erin) Peterman of Iowa, Joseph (Amber) Hahn, and Leslee Hahn, both of Evansville, IN; his great-grandchildren, Meghan, Nicholas, Isaac, and Elijah Peterman, & Ethan Hahn; a special nephew, David (Sandy) Brown of Ridge Farm. His parents, his two brothers, Arthur & Edwin, as well as, one son, Stephen, precede him in death. Bob was a life long member of the Ridge Farm Friends Church. A 1941 graduate of Ridge Farm High School and for 63 years he attended every alumni banquet. He attended two years at the University of Illinois before going to work on the farm. His was a member of the Ridge Farm Masonic Lodge #632 for over 50 years as well as serving as past master. Bob served on the Harrison School Board as president; he was a member of the Vermilion County Farm Bureau and a chartered member for over 50 years. He was a member the Scottish Rites Organization of Danville and served as an auditor for the Love Township from 1960 to 2000. Bob was honored to be on the Republican Committee for the Love Township for many years. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed rock collecting, fishing, and reading, and mastering crossword puzzles. He loved to take family and friends on tours of the crops that grew in his fields and to tell stories of the good old days. Bob enjoyed taking rides on his Kawasaki Mule in the woods and spending his days with his faithful dog, Kelley. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and friends. All that knew him will miss him.
