Robert Eugene Patterson

Robert E. Patterson (Bob or Pops) passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 6:45 AM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Georgetown, IL.

He was born September 29th, 1938, to Charles & Madonna Patterson from Georgetown, IL. He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife Carolyn (Raisor) Patterson, his daughter Brenda (Patterson) Cohoon, and his brother Richard Patterson.

He is survived by his son Charles Patterson and daughter Pamela (Patterson) Carlson. As well as his brother John Patterson & sisters Donna Brimmer and Bonita Cook. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, & great-great grandchildren.

Bob loved to fish, mushroom hunt, and take walks. He enjoyed cookouts with family and visiting Forest Glen. His favorite foods were peanut butter sandwiches, chocolate milk, & eggs. He had to have those nearly every day. He had a special dog friend named Tuffy, who was always by his side.

His daughter Pamela Carlson, grandson Nicholas Patterson and granddaughter Carley Hinkle provided their unwavering care for him throughout his last few years. Along with several other family members.

A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at 1PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Houghton-Leasure Chapel, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, Illinois, 61846 with Pastor Jim Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11AM – 1PM on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the funeral home. Following services, a potluck dinner will be served at the Georgetown Friends Church, 301 S. Main Street, Georgetown, Illinois.

Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to OSF Hospice.
