Robert Owens

Summerfield, FL- Richard Dick Owens, 75, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, December 4, 2007. Mr. Owens was born in Danville on February 28, 1932 the son of Roy J. and Mildred (Drews) Owens. He married Dolores Bradford on September 28, 1962. They moved from Danville to Summerfield, FL in 1995 after Richards retirement from Hyster Company. Richard was a member of Lady Lake United Methodist Church in Lady Lake, FL; where he was Head Usher. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. His passions were golf, softball, and fishing. Richard loved Big Band music, the outdoors, and a good cigar. Survivors include his wife: Delores; daughters: Keri Owens of Belleview, FL, Cindi Owens of Summerfield, FL; twin brother: Bob (Sara Wahlfeldt) Owens of Summerfield, FL and one grandson: Bradford O. Abbott. A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center (formerly Lakeside-Barrick Funeral Home) in Danville with Pastor Mark Keyser officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Tribute Center. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made in Richards name to the American Cancer Society or Lady Lake United Methodist Church 109 W. McClendon Street, Lady Lake, FL 32159.
