Robert Okerlund Sr

Robert w.Okerlund age 89 of Danville passed away at 4:45 p.m. Thursday June 10, 2004 at the VA Illiana Health Care System. He was born April 5, 1915 in Eagle Lake MN the son of Rhodie and Hulda Anderson Okerlund. He had married Betty Koehn on December 8, 1944 in Champaign she survives also a son Robert (Debra) Okerlund Jr of Danville, a daughter Annette (Chris) Willett of Dania Beach FL, one sister Pearl Larson of Eugene OR, one gran-daughter Heidi Okerlund of Danville. His parents and three brothers and one sister preceded bob. Bob served in the US Navy during ww2 and was stationed in Iceland and later in Norfolk VA, after the service he worked for Winters Bakery in Danville and later worked for the VA Hospital for 27 yrs retiring in 1972. He last worked for D.A.C.C for 6 yrs as a custodian. Bob was a member of the VFW Post728 in Danville also a member of N.A.R.F.E, Bob was a handy man and enjoyed working in his yard and garden.
