Robert Paul Noggle, 78, born on November 29, 1947, in Clinton, Indiana, passed away on February 5, 2026, at the VA Medical Center in Danville, Illinois, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Robert, affectionately known as Bob, spent his early years growing up on a farm in Georgetown, Illinois, where he learned the values of hard work and dedication while helping in the fields and raising hogs and cattle.

After being drafted into the United States Army, Bob served his country during the Vietnam War, demonstrating unwavering patriotism. Following his military service, he worked at Chuckles Candy Company, which marked the beginning of a life rich in varied experiences. Bob's adventurous spirit led him to Key West, Florida, where he purchased and renovated a hotel. After successfully selling the hotel, he relocated to Palm Desert, California, to embark on another hotel venture, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and knack for business.

After selling the hotel in Palm Desert, Bob settled in Yucca Valley, California for a number of years, where he transitioned to serving as a rural mail carrier, in Palm Springs California, a role he held until his retirement from the Post Office. After retiring, he made his way back to Illinois, where he became a pillar of support for his family and friends, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Bob was a man who always had time for people, embodying kindness and generosity. He was known for his competitive spirit, never shying away from a challenge and always striving to win, whether it was in his personal pursuits or friendly games of cards.

He is survived by his brother, Donald (Rita) Noggle, and close friend Roger Case. Bob also leaves behind his beloved granddaughter, Amanda Lind, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members who cherished him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his special partner, Lawrence Chandler; his father, Paul Noggle; his mother, Margaret (Benton) Noggle; brothers Billy Joe Noggle and Kenneth Alan Noggle; aunt Nellie Laughhunn; Grandmother Rosela Noggle Brown; nephew Corey Noggle, his nieces, Kelley and Shelly Noggle Cardin, great nephew Aaron Leonard, and special friend Bobette Warnick.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the VA Medical Center Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care and compassionate attention to Bob during his time there. Robert Paul Noggle will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and adventurous spirit but also for the profound impact he had on the lives of those he loved.

Bob had chosen Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Illinois, to help with his final wishes. Bob will be laid to rest at a later date at Danville, Illinois, National Cemetery with military honors.
