Robert "Bob" Wayne Naylor

Robert Wayne Naylor, 83, Newport, Indiana, passed away at his residence with his family by his side on April 8, 2026.

Bob was born on August 17, 1942, in Cayuga, Indiana, the son of Noble Lee and Norah Lee Naylor. On February 5, 1963, he married the love of his life, Vera E. Naylor (Moore), at the Cayuga Church of the Nazarene. Together, they shared a legacy of 63 years of marriage.

Bob is survived by his wife; his mother; his children Lindsie (Byron Fultz) Naylor and Terry (Terra) Naylor; grandchildren Cole (Genni) Bowman, Kinlie (Jesse) McElwee, Coy (Kurt) Cunningham, Zack (Kierstin) Naylor, Trey (Adrienne) Naylor, Landon Naylor, Maddox Naylor; great-grandchildren Maverick and Ruby Jo McElwee, Zeegan and Karsyn Naylor, and Eleanor Cunningham; his brother Dennis (Carla) Naylor, Sr. and sister Angela (Larry) Wangler.

He was preceded in death by his father, his infant twin brother and sister, and his beloved dog, Copper.

A devoted family man, he loved his family deeply, and nothing brought him more happiness than time spent with his grandchildren, whom he cherished.

An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed cheering on the Cubs, Bears, Colts, and Hoosiers. Whether watching from the stands or at home, he never hesitated to make his opinions known—often yelling at referees and players, a trait that brought many smiles and laughs to those around him.

He was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. He was known for being particular about his mowing, taking pride in keeping his yard just the way he liked it. He loved being outdoors, where he spent hours caring for the flowers around his home, filling bird feeders, and enjoying nature.

Bob will be remembered for his love of family, his spirited personality, and the everyday moments that made him unmistakably who he was. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on April 14, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST at Sunset Funeral Home – DeVerter Chapel, 215 North Division Street, Cayuga, Indiana 47928. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM EST at the funeral home, officiated by Ramona Trover. Bob will be laid to rest at Thomas Cemetery following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Parke Vermillion Humane Society at 1884 IN-63, Hillsdale, IN 47854 if desired.
