Robert Ludwig

Robert Guy Ludwig, age 82, of Danville, died at 8:27 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. He was born March 24, 1924 the son of Guy E. and Leona (Arnold) Ludwig. He married Lucille Frances Taylor on November 7, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. She survives. Robert is also survived by one son: Robert A. Ludwig of Homer, IL; two grandchildren: Robert L. Ludwig of Bismarck, IL, Ryan A. Ludwig of Indianapolis, IN; one brother: Lloyd (Sally) Ludwig of Sun City, AZ; and three sisters: Lois (Harold) Clawson of Jamestown, IN, Patricia Owens of Lebanon, IN and Winifred Bush of Danville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert was a graduate of Ridgefarm High School. He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947. He was stationed in Badnahiem, Germany with the Signal Corp as a teletypist. He owned and operated Ludwig Service Center in Fithian for many years and also worked as a parts man for H & L Equipment. Robert enjoyed playing cards and working puzzles. He was an avid Cubs, Bears, and Illini fan. What he loved the most was his model trains. He was a Member of the Muncie Baptist Church and was a Deacon Emeritis.
