Robert Lewis Spencer

Robert Spencer, 60, of Danville, passed away at his home on August 20 2022, with his wife Christina by his side. Rob was born in Muncie , Illinois on August 22 1961, to Paul and Thelma (Hackler) Spencer . He attended Muncie Grade School before moving to Westville, Illinois. He graduated from Westville High School in 1980. In 1981 he started at Lakeview Hospital working in the film room in Radiology. A few years later he moved into the Housekeeping Department then into the Transport Department where he finally retired this past July after 41 years. Rob always enjoyed talking to the patients as he took them around the hospital. He always thought it helped them feel better when they werent feeling their best. Rob was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. His friends always found an opportunity to remind Rob how bad his teams were doing that season. Robs other pastimes included Golfing, shooting Pool, most recently with his Fireballers team, and having a cold beer with his friends. He looked forward to the "all you can eat shrimp nights", the "Sunday fundays" , his weekly Blue Margarita Thursdays and the friends that joined him. Rob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Christina. He is also survived by : his brother Steve (Reanna) Gones; stepmother Thelma Spencer; nieces and nephews : Lacey, Andrew, Riley Ty, and Alicia; several Hays cousins; and his not related brother Brad (Denise) Morgan. Rob was preceded in death by his father Paul "pooch " Spencer, his mother Thelma (Richard) Kepley, and his brother Richard " Ric " Spencer. He also left behind many decades old friendships that he held dear to his heart. Those who knew him best will always remember Rob never met a stranger.
