Robert L. Leighty

Robert L. Leighty, 93, passed in his sleep on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. He was born April 20, 1928, in Veedersburg, IN, to Hazel and Ivan Leighty.

The family moved to Danville, IL when Bob was small. He attended Danville Schools before joining the Army and spending two years in the service. Bob had his own truck and began hauling grain, in 1970 he started driving for Ryder and P.I.E. and he drove until he retired at 65.

After he retired Betty and Bob had a travel trailer and traveled, they had no children, but Bob had five stepchildren.

Bob is survived by four stepchildren, Vicki Draper Hosier of Anderson, IN, Randy (Julie) Draper of Danville, Dennis (Marcia) Draper of Danville, Cindy (Tom) Draper Bennett of Kennesaw, GA; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two stepchildren, Gary Draper and Nancy Draper and three great grandchildren.

Bob and Betty were married December 21, 1970, and lived in Westville, IL.
