Robert Farrell Kochell Jr. 76 passed away at his home in Tilton, IL June 12, 2024.

Robert was born to Robert F. and Doris (Hansbrough) Kochell Sr. at Lakeview hospital in Danville, IL February 9,1948.

Bob attended Washington and Daniel grade schools. He was in the first class in 1962 to go to the new Southview Middle School. Bob met the love of his life at the age of 14. Bob and Bev dated for four years before getting married at the age of 18. They were married at his grandmothers house above Ellsworth Park on Aug. 28, 1966. They spent 49 years together until her passing.

Bob was drafted in the US Army during the Vietnam years on January 18, 1968. Was in basic training at Fort Campbell, KY. Sent to Germany for 5 months then transferred to Vietnam for 1 year. Bob retired from the Veterans Administration. He previously worked at Allith Prouty, and Alexander drywall.

Bob had many hobbies that consisted of buying, sanding, painting and fixing up cars. Over the years he has owned over 300 cars. Bob, Bev and his parents could have been found bar hopping anywhere between Westville and Watseka listening to country music and dancing.

In the summer he would be enjoying time with his family in a boat on the lake at Indiana beach. He enjoyed watching the Indy 500 and going to Charleston to watch his nephew's race.

His first love of cars was Corvettes. There was not a car show around that he did not want to go to. Probably looking for his next car to buy. Bob and Charlotte enjoyed taking rides, sightseeing, sitting outside and trying to decide what to have for dinner.

Bob leaves behind his fianc Charlotte L. Robbins of Danville. They have been together for 8 years. Brother Fred Kochell. Sisters Sheryl Donnelly, Ida (Bill) Clements. Brothers in law Walt Jenkins and Paul (Rebel) Wilson Sister in law Debbie (Wilson) Brannon. Charlottes sister Kim (Bobby) Fauver. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Along with special friends Steve and Dee Nolen.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife Beverly J. (Wilson) Kochell, his parents, Brother Alan Kochell, Brothers in law Jim Donnelly and Leo Wilson.

Per Bobs wishes he would like for anyone that attends to please be comfortable and wear Jeans and shirts. Men, please feel free to wear your hats.

A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at 2PM on Monday, June 17, 2024, with Pastor Jay Sorrell officiating at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N Vermilion Street Danville, Illinois. Burial will follow at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck, IL. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 1PM-2PM at the funeral home in Danville.
