Robert Kirk Griffin

Robert "Kirk" Griffin, 68, passed away on November 2, 2022, in his home at Catlin, IL. He was born on December 23, 1953, the son of Robert and Rosemary (Barnhizer) Griffin in Noblesville, IN. His mother survives and his father precedes him in death. Kirk married Denise (Owens) on May 24, 1975 in Danville, IL.

Surviving Kirk also includes his wife of 47 years, Denise Griffin; one son, Jeff (Katie) Griffin of Ann Arbor, MI; brother, H Kent (Debbie) Griffin of Danville, IL; brother in law, Dale Owens of Danville, IL; nephews and nieces, Brad (Kathy) Owens of Lincolnwood IL, Chris Griffin of Danville, IL, Tim Griffin of Danville IL, Christine Owens of Brownsburg, IN, Corbin (Suzanne) Owens of Belmont MI, Mary (Joe) Price of Chantilly VA, and Daniel (Taryn) Owens of Danville IL; as well and many aunts, uncles, great nephews, and great nieces.

Kirk retired from heavy & highway road construction. He enjoyed a variety of sports but was an avid golfer and was a U of I football season ticket holder.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Matt Filicsky will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association in Kirks name.
