Robert Johnson, 75, of Ridge Farm, IL, passed away at 4:02am, Monday, March 22, 2021, at his home. He was born on January 9, 1946, in Danville, the son of Herbert R. Nevels and Dorothy Johnson. Robert is survived by his wife, Carla {Whorrall} Johnson whom he was wed to on March 15, 2000. He will also be missed by his children, Lori (Steve) Galyen of Ridge Farm, Cheryl (Steve) Cruse of Perrysville, IN, Josh (Misty) Johnson of Georgetown, & Lisa (Nick McDaniels) Johnson of Ridge Farm; as well as, his wife Carlas children, Amanda Whorrall of Ridge Farm, Wayne (Lana) Douglass of Westville, Adam (Rayna) Douglass of Danville; his sister, Charlotte (Roger) Sallee; his brother, Charles (Leanne) Nevels; his grandchildren, Britney, Tosha, Scott, Samantha, Montana, Jacob, Seth, Devyn, Aidyn, David, Cierra, Justin, Blake, Jean, Heather, Pearl, Gareth, Skiler, & Clayton; his good friend, Gary Maxwell; and his many friends, including his father-in-law, Wayne Whorrall, and his cousin, Jerry (Sharon) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandpa, Willy Johnson; and cousin, Terry Chubby Johnson. Robert worked as a car salesman for many years. He enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith Show. He also enjoyed antique cars especially the 57 Chevy. Robert was known by many as a prankster as well as a wheeler & dealer on just about everything he could. He most cherished his family and loved to be surrounded by them. He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to give a special thank you to OSF Hospice care for the love and care shown during Roberts illness. A celebration of Roberts life will be held at 10:00am, Friday, March 26, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown. It is kindly requested that face masks be worn, and social distancing is practiced by those in attendance.
