Robert Jean Vredenburg

Robert Jean Vredenburg, 83, of Danville, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. He was born in Danville on June 1, 1937, the son of Keith and Marion Vredenburg.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eleanor Vredenburg; son, Scott (Debbie) Vredenburg; grandchildren, Aaron, Jared (Abby) and Leslie Vredenburg and great-grandson, Maverick Vredenburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Marion Vredenburg; son, Stephen Vredenburg and brother, William Vredenburg.

Robert attended Danville High School and retired after over 40 years of service with the railroad, where he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He was a member of the Further Light Lodge #1130 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge in Danville. Robert was also a member of the Danville Tennis Club for 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, water skiing and watching sports. Robert adored his family and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A Celebration of Roberts life will be at 2pm on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Visitation will be held prior from 1pm to 2pm at the Funeral Home. Robert will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
