Cayuga, Ind. -- Robert Jean Loden, 78, of Cayuga, passed away at 4:30 a.m. EST Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his residence in Cayuga. He was born September 30, 1932 in Danville, Illinos, the son of the late John Eston and Hilda Louise Gay Loden. He married Janet Ellis on September 27, 1967 in Danville, Illinois. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Jean Loden of Chicago, Illinois; Ellen Louise(Kenny Philhower)Loden and Roberta Williams both of Clinton, Indiana; two sons, Bob Loden, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois and George Wayne(Kathy)Loden of Champaign, Illinois; two goddaughters, Amanda Lewellen of Clinton, Indiana and Debbie(Robert)Irvin of Lafayette, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; six sisters, Mary Jane(Alan)Mertz of Rossville, Illinois; Linda I.(Jimmy)Corley and Rev. Pat Phillips both of Danville, Illinois; Diana(Verne)McDaniel and Rita(Brian)Hayes both of Cayuga, Indiana and Jackie Tragenza of Albuqerque, New Mexico; two brothers, Ed Tragenza of Chicago, Illinois and Rex Loden of Cayuga, Indiana; special nephew, Billy Joe "Booper" Loden of Cayuga, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, John Edward Loden, granddaughter, Amanda Renee Loden; one sister and five brothers. Robert was a tool maker for Chicago Tool in Chicago, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army and Prisoner of War for 18 months during the Korean War. Robert was a member of the Cayuga Community Holiness Church. He enjoyed woodworking, crafting with beads and fishing. Funeral services: 4 p.m. EST Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Cayuga Community Holiness Church; Officiating: Rev. Pat Phillips and Rev. Robert Cowen; Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. EST Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the church. Cremation following services with burial of cremains to be held at a later date. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana in charge of arrangements.
