Robert Haines

Robert Haines Sr., 89, of Danville, IL, passed away on September 4, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born on July 25, 1925 in Cleveland Ohio, the son of Walter M. and Helen (Cowdrey) Haines. He married Lois Johnson on May 14, 1949 in Crystal Lake, IL. Lois preceded Robert in death on April 16, 2014. He will be deeply missed by his sons, Bob (Rita) Haines of Oakwood, Mark (Dolly) Haines of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Paul (Renee) Haines of Ventura, California; his grandchildren, Cody, Salvador, James, Shawn, Ben, Wendy, Lisa, R. Michael Johnson, Lori (Mark) Stoog, Chad Burton and one sister, Helen (Bill) Groenekamp. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Steven Haines and brother, Daniel Haines. Robert was a Army Air Corp World War II Veteran and worked as an engineer for TechKnit in Santa Barbara, CA. He was a member of the “Barbershoppers” in Danville and Ventura, CA, the Danville American Legion, a life member of the NRA and enjoyed playing golf. Per Roberts wishes cremation rites will be accorded by Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Memorials can be made in Roberts name to the charity of the donors choice.
