Robert H. Menestrina

Robert H. Menestrina 91 of Westville passed away at 9:15 p.m. Friday February 26, 2010 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. He was born July 27, 1918 in Danville the son of William Menestrina and Isabell Shaw. Robert married Catherine Simmermeyer on September 3, 1944 in California, she preceded him in 1987. Those who will miss him are his children; Robert W. (Gwen) Menestrina of Franklin, Ky, Kenneth (Kristi) Menestrina of Hudson, IL, Twila K. Rigdon of Sullivan, IN, Pamela J. Hunt of Westville, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Herbert, two sisters Jane and Leana, two grandchildren Kory and Mary Jane, also his two son in-laws Keith Rigdon and James Hunt. Robert retired from G.E. in Danville as a supervisor with over 36 years of service also a founding member of the G.E. Credit Union as well as the G.E. Pensioners. He was a life member of Trinity United Church in Westville, also a member of the Moose lodge # 1001 of Danville. Robert was an all around handy man with Bowling, Camping, Dancing and polishing stones and gems as his hobbies. He enjoyed many years of mentoring Boy Scouts as a Scout Master. A celebration of the life of Robert H. Menestrina will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday March 2, 2010 at Sunset-Urbas funeral chapel in Westville. Visitation for his family and friends will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown.
