Robert (Bob) L. Grissom 1943 - 2018 Virden, IL - Bob Grissom, 74, passed away on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018 at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby (Bishop) and Lester Grissom, sister Nina Skovira, and brothers, Allen and Wayne. He is survived by his wife & soul mate of 57 years Barbara (Bobbie), daughter Vickie Schultz (Richard) Hoffman Estates, IL, son Tony (Jenni), Glenarm, IL, sisters Lil Rodiffer (Dick), Catlin, IL, Lynn West, Danville, IL, Peggy Hack (Warren), Danville, IL, Katie Hoggatt, Ridgefarm, IL, and brother Jim, Indianola, IL, sister-in-law's Sallie Grissom, Chrisman, IL, Donna Ice, Georgetown, IL, brother-in-law Frank Evans, Alamagordo, New Mexico, five grandsons, Patrick Voss, Alex Voss, Derek Grissom, Dakota Grissom, Mason Edmison (Valerie), one great granddaughter, Gemma Voss, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob, aka Gus in the Springfield area, was a wonderful husband, awesome father and grandfather, brother, and uncle. He never met a stranger and sure had the gift of gab. He loved golf and any outside games, riding his motorcycle and especially loved playing cards. He and Bobbie, aka Barb, to those same Springfield people, played guitar and sang together and were in numerous country opry's around the Springfield and Taylorville areas. He had a terrific sense of humor and wherever he was, there was always laughter. He was in insurance as an agent and then management most of his life. A more honest man you'd be hard pressed to find. Visitation will be at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Chapel, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, IL on Thursday February 15, 2018 from 10:00 Am to 1:00pm Immediately following visitation will be graveside services at Georgetown Cemetery.
