Robert General Roop

Perrysville, Ind. - Robert General Roop, 76, of Perrysville went to his eternal home with his Lord January 3, 2021.

Bob was born September 8, 1944 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Robert and Helen L. (McCarroll) Roop. Bob married Weezie Wilson on October 4, 1977. She survives.

He is also survived by his children: Robert (Kim) Roop II of Valrico, Florida; Neal Roop of Ocala, Florida; Shenandoah (Bruce) Stewart of Masaryktown, Florida; Donnie (Genara) Roop of Defuniak Springs, Florida; Dean (Rachel) Roop of Henderson, Kentucky; Charlotte (Philip) Ross and Christopher Roop both of Perrysville, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews Bob was so fond of.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ann Roop.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He loved being with his family and all the get togethers before Covid. Bob enjoyed and looked forward to church every Sunday at the Cayuga First Assembly of God and Monday Bible study with Dr. Bartosh. Bob liked fishing, riding his Harley, Alabama football and watching I.U. Basketball with Weezie. Bob had a trust and faith in our Lord and an amazing knowledge of God's word which he loved to study and teach. Bob co-founded 'Back To The Street Ministry' in 1993. The ministry teaches God's word to inmates at Fountain and Vermillion County jails, and has many more outreaches.

The family would like to send their appreciation to Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital for the wonderful care of Bob and amazing compassion to the family.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. EST Friday, January 8, 2021 at Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Sonja Adams. There will be no visitation. The family request contributions to the Cayuga First Assembly of God, Back To The Street Ministry or The Gideons. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
