Robert Geisert

RIDGE FARM - Robert Geisert, 82, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 9:08am on March 30th, 2006, at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born on December 31st, 1923, in Marshall, IL, to Kenneth and Edith (Liffick) Geisert. He married Barbara (Waldon) Geisert on December 27th, 1948. She survives Other survivors include: his son, Wayne (Paula) Geisert of Kokomo, IN; his daughter, Judy (Tim) Miller of Ridge Farm; his grandchildren, Misha Geisert of Kokomo, IN, Kyle Miller, Annette Miller, and Erin Miller, all of Ridge Farm; and his great grandchildren, Tanner W. Miller and Cambre Grace, both of Ridge Farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Robert served in the US Navy during WWII in the Philippines. He retired from General Motors in Tilton in 1986 after working for 38 years and was a member of the Tilton UAW 579. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed gardening and mushroom hunting. He cherished time spent with his family. A celebration of Roberts life will be held at 2:00pm on April 3 2006, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Visitation will be from 1-2pm on Monday, April 3, 2006 at the funeral home. The Rev. James Blue will officiate. As per his wishes, Robert will be cremated and burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made in his name to the Frank Carsman Scholarship Fund through Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School.
