Robert Ford

Robert Ford, 75, of Danville, Illinois, passed away at his home on April 23, 2024. Bob was born on April 13, 1949, the son of Earl and Doris (Hanes) Ford in Sullivan, Indiana. Bob married the love of his life Sharon Harrier on October 3, 1968. She preceded him in death on May 21, 2018.

Bob is survived by his siblings; Steven (Kathy) Ford, and Sally (Charlie) Ferraro, his brother-in-law Richard Dale Harrier, and sister-in-law Clara (Donnie) Thornton, and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers Jimmy, and Mike.

Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at General Electric for 28 years where he made lifetime friendships, then he worked at Hyster, before finishing up working at Thyssen Krupp Crankshaft. Bob enjoyed riding horses and his horse was Buck. He enjoyed fixing mowers and just helping people when he could.

A visitation will be held at 11- noon on Monday April 29, 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, 200 East West Street. Graveside service will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
