Robert Ellis

Robert D. "Bob" Ellis, 79 of Danville, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2004 rejoining in spirit his wife of 57 years. He was born December 4, 1924 in Hillsboro, Indiana, the son of Harley T. and Grace Marie (Lucas) Ellis. He married Doris J. Hinton on February 24, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. They celebrated 57 years of marriage shortly before her death on March 6, 2000. His memory will be lovingly kept by his 2 Daughters: Sherry (Bart) Ford of Crestline, CA, Sally (Jerry) Wright of Danville; his Step-Father: Norval Lang of Tilton; 4 Grandchildren: Lauren Hines of Lake Arrowhead, CA, James Hensley of Los Angeles, CA, Jeffrey Anders of Danville, Jennifer (J.J.) Lockwood of Catlin; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Hayley, Richie & Jackson; 1 Brother: Norris Lang of Houston, TX and 2 Special Caregivers: Christa (Bruce) Cunningham of Westville, Margaret Sanders of Covington, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Doris, and 1 Brother: Norman Lang. Bob worked for CSXT Railroad Company as an Engineer until his retirement in 1984. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Philippines. He was a member of Northland Christian Church in Danville, and he enjoyed spending his time working on motors and rebuilding old cars. He also enjoyed woodworking and carpentry work.
