Robert Edwards

Robert Edwards, 89, of Danville, passed away at Hawthorne Inn on April 8, 2015. Bob was born March 7, 1926 to Leslie and Helen (Justus) Edwards Bob married Mary 68 years ago she survives. Also surviving is one son Thomas (Vickie) Edwards of Danville; two grandchildren Craig (Shelly) Edwards of Oakwood and Kim (Vince) Savage of Danville; three great grandchildren Sadie Edwards, Tyler and Abbie Knight; one brother Donald (Rosemary) Edwards. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jack and one sister June Ziebart. Bob was a proud Veteran who served his country during WWII. Bob was a Good Christian Man, who loved to give tours through CrossRoads Christian Church. Bob enjoyed handing out CrossRoads pens when he was out to eat giving the waitress a pen or someone just in town. He liked to work out in his yard enjoyed collecting model cars. Bob retired from Hyster after 32 years. Before that he ran a Gas station called Vermilion Service Station, he also worked at Sunset Funeral Home for five years helping serve people who were in need. Most of all Bob loved his wife Mary son Tom and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm. Monday April 13, 2015 at CrossRoads Christian Church in Danville, with Pastor Miles Clark officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Sunday April 12, 2015 at 4:00 pm. to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made in Bobs name to the CrossRoads Christian Church.
