Robert Downing

Robert W. Downing, 48, of Danville passed away on March 27, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 20, 1966 in Sacramento, California, the son of, Robert Eugene and Antoinette Marie (Demore)Downing. He married Renee D. Lansaw on September 21, 1990 in Danville, she survives. He will be deeply missed by his wife, two daughters, Erica R. Downing of Danville and Ashlee R. (Jeremy R.) Ames of Danville, two grandchildren Amira R. Downing and Khai A. Williams, two brothers, Michael (Sandra) Downing of California and Keith Downing of California, two sisters, Kathy Moore of Chrisman, IL and Christina Kitts of Florida. Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Antoinette Downing. He was a kind, loyal, hard-working and honest man. Bob worked as a production supervisor at Flex-N-Gate for over twenty years then became an engineer for the CSX Railroad, where he worked for 10 years. Most of all he loved his family. His family felt his love and devotion each and every day. His grandchildren are the light of his life. Bob also loved to golf, cook and fish. A Celebration of Bobs life will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Springhill Cemetery in Danville, IL.
