Robert Dolkey

Robert H. Dolkey, 83, of Danville IL. passed away on October 27, 2012 at his home with wife Doris and friend Glenda at his side. Robert was born April 17, 1929 in Vincennes IN to James A. and Edna Dolkey. Robert worked various jobs in Vincennes where he met his deceased wife of 61 years, Patricia L. Leach. On July 24, 2012 while in the hospital he married his long time friend and companion Doris Decker. He is survived by a brother James Eugene, nieces and nephews, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his wife Patricia, daughter Kim, brother Jack, nieces and nephews, and his dog Tia. Robert served in the US Army from May 1951 to May 1953 and while stationed in Korea he was awarded two Bronze stars and obtained the rank of sergeant. After returning from service he and his wife moved to Danville where he retired from General Motors after 30 years. There will be a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park, Danville IL. at 1:00 on Tuesday October 30, 2012. Pastor Mark Keyser of the Ridge View Baptist Church will be officiating. Military rights will be performed by the American Legion Post # 210. Memorials may be made in Robert's name to the Provena Home Health, Provena Hospice.
