Robert Deeken

Robert George Deeken, 82 of Danville, IL, died, Friday (July 13, 2007) in Danville, IL. He was born August 18, 1924 in Danville, IL, the son of Carl Deeken and Edith Logan. He married Opal Irene Carl on September 15, 1945 who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Chris) Deeken, of Danville and Daniel (Carol) Deeken, of Charleston, IL, a daughter-in law, Patricia (Barnett) Deeken of Collierville, TN., 5 grandsons, and 7 great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Carl Deeken and John Deeken, 2 sisters, Mary Johnson and E. Rose Christensen and a son, Robert R. Deeken. Robert was a 1942 graduate of Danville High School and served in the Navy from 1944-1946. He retired from R & S Printing where he worked as a plate maker. Robert enjoyed playing golf with his Saturday morning golf buddies. A Celebration of Roberts Life will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. with Rev. Bill Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 pm -3 pm Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park following the service.
