Robert Davis

Robert Eugene Davis, 78, of Tilton passed away on April 12, 2010 at VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville. Robert was born November 11, 1931 in Danville, Illinois son of Ben and Alice Laverne Davis. Survivors include wife Barbara and three children: Lillie (Pat) Sibert of Indiana, Ruth (Jim) Sigler of Danville, and Billie Thurston of Tilton; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harvey and Kenneth, and sisters Alice and Ruth. Robert served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956. He was a member of U.A.W. and retired from General Motors after 33 years. Robert enjoyed gardening, fishing, mushroom hunting, and playing cards. A Celebration of Roberts Life will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Danville, Illinois. Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
