Robert D. Graves

Cayuga, Ind. -- Robert D. Graves, 67, of Cayuga, Indiana and formerly of Carson City, Nevada, passed away at 2:16 p.m. EST Tuesday (March 6, 2007) at West Central Community Hospital in Clinton, Indiana. He was born January 22, 1940, at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, the son of the late Robert F. and Betty Gillespie Graves. He married Carol K. Sutton on November 16, 1958 in Jellico, Tennessee. She survives. Other survivors include his children: Christopher D. Graves of Seattle, Washington; Edith K. Dowers and Robert Dale Graves both of Cayuga, Indiana; Patty J. Stanfield of Carson City, Nevada; eleven grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Gillespie and Ginger West both of Arkansas; Charlotte Graves of Texas; three brothers, Joe Graves and David Gillespie both of Oklahoma and Johnny Cake of Texas. Robert was a retired warehouseman from Southwest Gas Company. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving on the U.S.S. Saratoga. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. EST Saturday, March 10, 2007 at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana. There will be no funeral services. Cremation to follow.
