Robert James "Jim" Curry

Robert James “Jim” Curry, 78, of Danville passed away at 10:00 AM on November 19, 2025

Jim was born on September 20, 1947 the son of Harvey Glendon and Barbara Alice (Corbly) Curry in Danville, IL. He married Diana Jones on August 22, 1969 in Milford, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Diana Curry of Danville, IL, two sons Philip (Holly) Curry of Zebulon, NC and Ryan (Erin) Curry of Washington, IL, four grandchildren, Ian Curry of Zebulon, NC and Addison, Lucy and Harvey Curry all of Washington, IL.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents.

Jim graduated from Hoopeston High School and served in the United State Army from December of 1966 until December of 1968. He retired after 40 years of service at Danville Metal Stamping and enjoyed spending his free time camping, fishing, rooting for the Chicago Cubs, collecting and building model cars and collecting eagles.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Rod Godley will officiate. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the funeral home.
