Robert C. Mosier, Jr., 65, of Indianola, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. He was born on November 5, 1957, and was raised in Georgetown, the son of Robert and Phyllis {Fleming} Mosier. Before his teenage years, he moved to Indianola where he spent the rest of his life raising his family. A graduate of Jamaica High School, he later joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany where he spent his time hauling supplies in his 5-Ton dump truck. He later worked in everything from factories to welding and he enjoyed every minute of the hard work, especially when working the coal mines where he was known as "Bob the Builder". He was a wonderful husband, devoted father, and loving grandpa. He enjoyed the time when his children were growing up and in sports where he was a coach, from baseball to basketball, and especially football. He led his youth football teams to many "super bowls" throughout the years. During retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the birds, and tending to his sunflowers, he was known to really enjoy being in Mother Nature. You could always catch him waving from his lawn mower when you drove by his house. He closely cherished his two dogs, Miss Muffett and Cisco. He had a special bond with his grandsons, from remodeling their home to enjoying smores by the fire. He taught them many building blocks of life as well as spending time with his granddaughters, Madisson and Danielle. In his later years, he found the Lord and joined the United Methodist Church and was a faithful member. He enjoyed helping with all the Churchs activities. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Kaye Mosier; his sons, Lance Mosier and Daulton Davis; his daughters, Tiffany Shrout and Lindsay Mosier; his five grandchildren, Chandler, Drakin, Gage, Danielle, and Madisson; and his sister Cindy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Raymond; and his sisters, Darlene, Charlene, and Doreen. You were the greatest husband, dad, and grandpa the whole world could ever ask for. We love you and we hope you enjoy the other side. A celebration of Roberts life will be held at a later date. His arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the donors choice of charity. Please join his family in sharing memories, photos, and videos through his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
