Robert 'Butch' Porter

Robert "Butch" H. Porter Jr., 71, of Danville. He was born on January 2nd, 1946 the son of Robert "Bob" H. Sr, and Evalyn (Epperson) Porter. Butch drowned after capsizing a small boat on the pond on his property on August 9th 2017. Butch had a good life, he enjoyed pushing the limits of his mind, body and soul. He spent his life as a mechanic, a personal daredevil, a stunt clown, husband, father, grandfather and a great grandfather. All of whom will be greatly missed. Butch enjoyed his bunny farm and his dogs, he had pets of many kinds throughout the years. As a husband Butch loved being married and did all he knew how for his wife. As a dad and grandfather, Butch had pride when speaking of his children and grandchildren. Family was his pride and joy. His true love was his 55 Chevy. It was a topic of discussion with pride. Butch is survived by his sons; Rod Porter, Scott Porter and Mike Rogers, one step daughter Michelle Naanes, his fianc Kathy Bock, two brothers and one sister; David Porter, Mike Porter and Susan Porter, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Butch was preceded in death by his wife Sue Porter and three sisters. A visitation will be held on Saturday August 19th, 2017 from 10 - noon, at Sunset's Oakwood Chapel at 105 East South Main Street in Oakwood. Service will be held at noon on Saturday August 19th, 2017 private burial at Oakridge Cemetery in Catlin.
