Robert E. "Butch" Cole, 70, of Danville IL, passed away at 8:14 pm on Thursday January 31, 2013 at the Hawthorn Inn in Danville. Butch was born on October 8, 1942 to Olen Louis and Minnie (Gay) Cole in Danville IL. Butch is survived by his brother Gary R. Cole, sisters - Linda L. Pribble, Marion K. (Steve) Chasteen, Gail L. (Bob) Nelson and Vickie J. Pagson, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Louis E. Cole and nephews Daren K. West, Chris A. Pribble and Ronald J. Pribble. A former student of Oakwood High Butch served his country with honor from 1962 to 1967. After leaving the Army he went to work for General Motors as a foundry operator until his retirement in 1993. Butch enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time at the American Legion Hall. As per Butch's wishes he is to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville with Pastor Rob Caudill officiating and a private family burial at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #210. A short hour long visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:00 am.
