Robert L. Brown (71) departed this world on Tuesday, April 2025, after a 10-month courageous battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Bob was born and raised in Danville, Illinois, attending Immanuel Lutheran, North Ridge and Danville High School. Throughout his life he was employed in Industrial and Contractor Sales, at Danville Industrial Supply Company, Fastenal, The Depot, and Leatherneck Hardware. Jobs that opened the door to many lasting friendships.
Bob was an avid Illini basketball and football fan, attending many games. He also cheered on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Bears. Indy and NASCAR racing was another favorite. Bob enjoyed reading in his spare time, especially books on sports and World War II.
From Childhood, he enjoyed family vacations on the beaches in Florida, but also loved trips to Chicago's Magnificent Mile, especially eating at Joe's Steak and Crab.
Bob was no doubt greeted into the Pearly Gates by his brother, Terry Brown, and his best friend, Jack Picklap, both who he has missed dearly since their passing. He also joins his parents, Harold and Betty Brown, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Wendy Brown of Danville, Illinois, a son, Joshua (Kelly) Brown of Belleville, Wisconsin, a daughter, Kara (Daniel) Hile of Danville, Illinois, grandchildren, Evan Brown, Bella Brown, Elliot Hile, Noah Hile, and Peyton Hile, his four-legged family, Ivy, Izzy, and Pearl, a special niece, Kristen (Brad) Weir and nephew, Sam Weir of Paris, Illinois.
A special thanks to LuAnn Picklap, Ron Reich, Don Burmeister, Neil Phelps, and Patrons of the Big Four, along with other neighbors and friends who encouraged and supported Bob and the family on his cancer journey.
To honor Bob's Wishes, there will be no funeral service. You are invited to privately celebrate his memory in your own way.
