Robert Booth 82 of Danville passed away at 2:22 A.M. Tuesday February 7, 2006 at Provena USMC Hospital. He was born October 29, 1923 in Lafayette, in the son of Horace H. and Lora Fae Wright Booth. Bob married Martha J. Young on June 30, 1946 in Attica, in; she preceded him on January 26, 1997. Surviving one daughter Sarah Jane Booth and her husband Jessie Satter of Danville. His parents preceded him in death. He received a BSEE degree from Purdue University in 1946. In his early years Bob was Vice President of engineering and production at Hurletron in Danville, from 1969 to 1971, he lived in Ireland to become General Manager of Hurletron Europe Limited. In 1972, Bob became a Real Estate Broker for R.D. Sanders; in 1973, they joined a partnership known as Sanders-Booth Real Estate. 1979 to 1980 partners with Booth & Associates R.E., 1981 to 1983 partner with Finney Brandenberger Booth & Assoc R.E., 1984 to 1986 he worked for Mauck Appraisals INC. Bob was a 33-degree Mason and was initiated in the Valley of Danville 32 degree AASR in 1956. He was Commander- in Chief of the Danville Consistory from 1973 to 1975 and Executive Secretary of the Scottish Rite Bodies of the Valley of Danville from 1982 to 1993. Bob was also a Shriner and enjoyed being a Shrine Clown. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #332 of Danville and Past Exalted Ruler, Bob was instrumental in relocating the Elks lodge to its Liberty Lane location before moving back to its new location on Vermilion St. He was a member of the Downtown Danville Rotary Club and Past President of the Danville Chamber of Commerce. In 1988, he was elected to the Vermilion County Board (District 6) and twice re-elected. Bob enjoyed Purdue sports and the Chicago Cubs.
