Robert 'Bob/Peach' L Brown

Robert "Bob/Peach" L. Brown, 72, of Catlin, passed away at 7:10am, Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at his home. He was born on May 2, 1944, in Chicago, IL, the son of Gaither and Teresa (Emerson} Brown. He was married to Nancy Burt on August 26, 2006, in Catlin. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his sons, Matthew Brown of Rantoul and Shaun Brown of Lakeland, Florida; his daughter, Tammy (John) Barbee of Lafayette, IN; his step-daughter, Kelly Pollock; his grandchildren, Ashley, Elizabeth, Candy, Bethany, his step-grandchildren, Lucas Pollock, Stephanie (Joe Toth) Pearson, Bethaney (Jason) Sandlin, Hannah Rustman, Taylor (Chet) Scott, Ally Pierce, Gabby Pierce, Katie Pierce, Maddie Pierce, Hadley Pierce, Ashley (Derrick) Shepherd, & Kaylee Reetz; his several great grandchildren; and also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Evelyn Fogarty & Donna Booe, and five brothers, Joseph Gene', James, Thomas, and Charles Dink'. Bob was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and served during 1964-1968. He retired from Indiana State Veterans Home in Lafayette, IN. He also served as a Reserve Deputy in Lafayette for 31 years. He was still employed with W.D.C. Management, INC. in Plainfield, IN. Bob was a member of the Catlin Church of Christ. He liked working with electronics and computers, as well as, "flipping" houses. Bob enjoyed listening music. He cherished his family and will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL, with Kevin Cox officiating. Visitation will be held 3pm to 7pm Friday, August 5, 2016, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Oakridge Cemetery in Catlin with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203 of Georgetown. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the American Cancer Society.
