Robert 'Bob' Windecker

Robert Bob Windecker, 64, of Danville, Illinois passed away on May 22, 2010 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Robert was born June 19, 1945 in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Survivors include two children: Nicole (Richie) Abbed of Danville, Illinois and Tracy (Tim) Mulvihill of Egg Harbor City, New Jersey; two brothers; and three grandchildren: Samantha, Casey, and Sophia. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Jean Daughtery. Robert was a machinist for Automation International for 25 years until retiring in June of 2009. He was a volunteer fireman for several years and enjoyed helping on family Do-It-Yourself projects, camping, Italian food, but most of all he was an avid Cowboys fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren. A Celebration of Roberts Life will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Danville National Cemetery.
